Your existing valid identity card, valid for use abroad, is sufficient for travel within the countries signed up to the Schengen Agreements: Austria, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Hungary, and Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Croatia and Switzerland.
Europe and Schengen Area
To travel in Sweden, Ireland, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Romania a passport or valid identity card is necessary.
To travel in the United Kingdom a passport is necessary.

USATo enter the United States under the “Visa Waiver Program”, it is compulsory to fill in the online form to obtain the digital travel authorization (the ESTA - Electronic System for Travel Authorization).

Before embarking, it is mandatory to obtain the "electronic Travel Authorization" (eTA).

This application costs 7 Canadian dollars and the operation is usually validated within a few minutes, excluding security checks.
The eTA is electronically linked to the passport and is valid for a period of five years or until the passport expires.
